The sterilizer ProCristal UV-C Compact plus by JBL ensures crystal clear and healthy water in freshwater and saltwater aquaria by quickly and effectively removing floating algae and bacteria. Furthermore, the UV-C radiation is germicidal and therefore lowers the risk of infections for any inhabitants of aquaria. In addition, sessile algae, such as thread algae, can also be reduced because their spores are largely killed off. However, the sterilizer has no negative effect on important purification bacteria in the filter and doesn’t cause any change of water parameters. Due to the glass bulb being encased with a polished, reflective stainless steel foil, the efficiency is doubled.
The sterilizer has a safety switch. This means that the device switches off automatically as soon as it is opened. It is TÜV-approved, has a UV-resistant housing and an LED lamp that indicates the status of the UV-C tube.
