Oase BioCliff is a natural filter medium that has been specially developed for optimising filter systems in aquariums and ponds. It consists of silicate rock and is characterised by a particularly large surface area that supports the colonisation of microorganisms.
These microorganisms are essential for the biodegradation of pollutants and help to maintain crystal-clear water quality. The different size of the material prolongs the time the water remains in the filter and thus improves the effect of the bacteria. BioCliff also helps to reduce microplastics in the water and is therefore a sustainable addition to conventional filter materials.
